Our Story

Deerly Beloved Bakery is an award winning vegan artisan bakery run by Kayleigh Baddeley- Read and  founded in May 2011.

A vegan herself and with a background as a vegan and vegetarian chef, Kayleigh always had the dream to set up a bakery in her home city of Norwich. After baking and taste testing her core range, she took the plunge and did her first stall in December 2010 where her cakes were a run away success and sold out in a few hours. Kayleigh then started planning her business and opened Deerly Beloved Bakery in 2011. 

Cafes and shops soon started stocking Deerly Beloved Bakeries cakes and stockists now include Biddy's Tea Room and Little Shop Of Vegans.

 

In 2013 DBB won the Norwich Eco Award for 'Best Small Eco Business' and in 2015 came 3rd in the UK for 'Best Vegan Bakery' at the UK Vegan Awards.

In early 2011 Kayleigh started a vegan recipe and cruelty free life style blog, made step by step recipe videos which are available on Youtube and wrote her  first recipe zine 'Adventures From A Vegan Kitchen'.

Kayleigh has also had her recipes published in Chickpea Magazine, Vegetarian Living Magazine The Vegan Woman Website, and the vegan cookery book Soy Not Oi 2.

From 2012 to 2014 DBB also ran a vegan get together group in our home town of Norwich.

We specialise in vegan celebration cakes, novelty cakes, wedding cakes, pastries, whoopie pies, cupcakes, and sweet treats and all of our cakes are handmade to order just for you!

 

We also offer bespoke catering and cakes for events, weddings and any other vegan celebration.

Our kitchen has been full approved and inspected by Norwich City Council to a 5 rating and we have full food hygiene certification and insurance.
