That's a wrap! Deerly Beloved Bakery is now closed.
I am a mix of emotions and a few tears have been shed.
When I started this business nearly 15 years ago I didn't know how it would pan out. I was out of work after burning out from my anxiety disorder and after being turned down for disability benefits by Atos for 'being able to wear mascara' and 'competent to fill out the form' I decided to have a go at the thing I loved which was making vegan cakes.
My first cakes were for a shop opening on St Benedicts called Aunty Nana's followed by a stall at Olives cafe where my husband (then my boyfriend) worked.
Deerly was up and running.
I would love to thank all the shops and businesses we have supplied over the years including Waterstones cafe W, Biddys Tea Room, UEA Sports park, UEA Unio, Slurp, St Benedict's Food Store, Rainbow Wholefoods, Little Shop of Vegans, The Sanctuary Cafe, Franks Bar, The Green Grocers, The Mitre Norwich, The Bicycle Shop, Pulse, Huggers, Greenwave Cafe, Hungry Cat Cafe, Hatters Tea Shop, Sunset Cafe, Auntie Nana's,
The Dandy Horse.
And also all the lovely stalls and markets we attended, Norwich Mind Body and Spirit fayre, Clutter City, The Christmas lights switch on, Norwich games convention, Makers Market, Norwich Makers Market, Global Village Norwich, Castle Castle Acre fair, Manchester Zine fair, Norwich Zine Fair, Fierce Babes Market, Norwich vegans fair, Norwich Pumpkin Fest, The Bar Boot Sale, Olives, St Augustine's street party for Lord Mayors Procession and many more!
Thank you to all my amazing customers near and far who let me create cakes for your special occasions and celebrations. It means the world to have made them for you.
I also want to say a big thank you to my family who have done deliveries, ingredients runs, have helped out at stalls have been a sounding board and just amazing supporters of me and Deerly.
And finally a big thank you to my husband Kyle, who apart from the baking, has been by my side through everything. I love you all Deerly.
Best wishes
Kayleigh
